The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog
Best free alternatives to
Before the Rain
Måns Grebäck released Before the Rain in 2011 through his own foundry, Mans Greback, and it has since become one of the most downloaded calligraphy scripts on dafont. It is a graceful, connected script with thin hairline strokes and long, looping ascenders, shipped in two styles: a regular cut and a Swashes companion for decorated initials and tails. The widely shared demo is personal-use only; commercial work on logos, invitations or packaging needs a paid license from the designer or MyFonts. These free typefaces work the same flowing calligraphic register without the license fee.

The display sets the register; the body follows through. When both halves of a pair pull in the same direction, the design disappears and the words come forward.
