Pinyon Script
A free alternative to Edwardian Script.
About Pinyon Script
Pinyon Script is Nicole Fally's formal English roundhand, released through Google Fonts in 2011 with engraved copperplate discipline, a measured slant, and generous swashed capitals. The lowercase connects properly and the ceremony is built in — this is invitation and certificate lettering, drawn with restraint rather than exuberance.
That restraint is what makes it substitute so reliably. It's the closest free match for Kuenstler Script, sharing the same engraved construction and ceremonial capitals, and it's slightly more disciplined than Edwardian Script, which makes it the safer swap when a setting has to look correct rather than lively. It also serves as the best free analogue for Vivaldi — the same round-hand formality and swash capitals, without the license. Use it for names, titles, and short formal lines only.

Pinyon Script is also a free alternative to…
- Edwardian Script → A polished English roundhand with the same formal copperplate DNA; slightly more disciplined than Edwardian Script, which makes it the safest swap for invitations and certificates.
- Kuenstler Script → The closest free match — a formal English roundhand with the same engraved copperplate discipline, measured slant, and ceremonial capitals as Kuenstler Script.
- Vivaldi → The best free analogue — a round-hand copperplate script with generous swashed capitals and formal, connected lowercase; Vivaldi's ceremony without Vivaldi's license.
