About Anton
Anton is Vernon Adams's 2011 display sans: a single ultra-heavy condensed weight with a crushing x-height and flat, no-nonsense terminals. It belongs to the American advertising-gothic tradition — built for headlines set large and tight, with no text-size ambitions and no companion weights to fall back on.
The match with Impact is close enough that meme captions and tabloid-style headlines transfer with almost no visual shift. It substitutes convincingly for Franklin Gothic Heavy or Extra Condensed in posters and banners, and reaches the Cruiserweight-to-Sumo end of Knockout. Against Druk it is the best free approximation of the default cut for sheer punch, if not as tightly compressed. Lemon Milk is the honest stretch — Anton is condensed where Lemon Milk is not — but it fills the same loud, single-weight caps role.
