About Young Serif
Young Serif is Bastien Sozeau's chunky old-style display serif, a single heavy weight of thick, soft, rounded shapes. There are no lighter cuts and no italic — it's a one-weight face, drawn for headline use, where the generous stroke mass and gently rounded joins give it a warm, slightly retro presence rather than a sharp editorial one.
In bold headline settings it comes very close to the Quincy CF mood, and it channels the same 1970s-revival warmth that carried Windsor back into fashion. That makes it a strong free option for menus, posters, packaging, and section headings where coziness is the point.
