About Shrikhand
Shrikhand is Jonny Pinhorn's syrupy ultra-bold display face, released through Google Fonts in 2015 with bulging, sweetly rounded curves and a strong forward slant. The strokes swell until counters close down to small openings, and the whole design carries a vernacular, sign-painted flavor — closer to hand-lettered shopfronts and packaging than to any text tradition.
That energy puts it on the same retro-revival mood boards Cooper Black dominates. It isn't a lookalike — the slant and the vernacular detailing take it somewhere different — but it hits the same register of warm, heavy, unembarrassed nostalgia, and it's a stronger choice when a design wants that mood without the ubiquity Cooper Black now carries. Use it for logotypes, poster headlines, and packaging, one or two words at a time.
