About Orbitron
Orbitron is a geometric display face by Matt McInerney, released free in 2009 to bring sci-fi and technological lettering into open fonts. It's rigidly geometric and rooted in the futuristic, wide-set tradition — the type you associate with spacecraft consoles and retro-future title sequences — and it's built strictly for large display sizes, not text.
As a free typeface it occupies the same cultural slot as Eurostile and similar techno display faces, which is where it's most often used: logos, headlines, and game or tech branding, anywhere a design wants an immediate future-facing signal. Reserve it for short, large settings where its geometry can carry the look.
