About Mattone
Mattone is a bold, wide sans serif by Nunzio Mazzaferro, released by Collletttivo under the Open Font License. Its name is Italian for "brick," and the design has the presence to match — generously wide proportions, heavy strokes, and loud, fully rounded curves that make it highly visible at a glance.
It began life as a display face and was later rebuilt to hold up in longer text at smaller sizes, so it now stretches from posters and mastheads down into short runs of copy without losing its round, confident character. Reach for it when a headline or brand wants to feel solid and friendly rather than neutral. Distributed under the Open Font License, self-hosted here.
