About Hubot Sans
Hubot Sans is the squarer, more mechanical counterpart to Mona Sans, drawn for GitHub by Degarism in 2022 and released open-source through Google Fonts. Where its sibling stays neutral, Hubot flattens its curves toward the rectangle and tightens the joins, producing a deliberately robotic character — technical, faintly industrial, and considerably louder at display sizes than at text sizes.
That temperament is the whole point. Hubot Sans was built for the expressive display moments in GitHub's brand system rather than for body copy, and it behaves the same way anywhere else: set it large in headlines, section openers, product names, and interface accents, and let something quieter carry the paragraphs. Used alongside Mona Sans it gives a system two registers — one plain, one emphatic — without introducing an unrelated typeface.
