About Herr Von Muellerhoff
Herr Von Muellerhoff is Alejandro Paul's 2011 revival of a vintage formal script, a Spencerian-flavored hand with sweeping connected strokes. Enormous theatrical capital swashes sit above a small, quick lowercase. It belongs to the German-named Bluemlein tradition and is built from pointed-pen vocabulary throughout.
The outsized capitals are the reason to choose it: they come closer to Vivaldi's showpiece caps and Zapfino's sense of performance on the page than most free scripts manage. Set against Edwardian Script it trades rigid copperplate formality for freehand energy, and against Kuenstler Script it is simply more flamboyant while sharing the same construction. Available on Google Fonts, it suits monograms, mastheads, and invitation display lines where one letter is doing most of the work — and it wants generous size to let those swashes open out.
