About Cormorant
Cormorant is Christian Thalmann's display-optimized reinterpretation of Garamond, released through Google Fonts in 2015 and drawn specifically for large sizes. Five weights with true italics, high contrast, sharp refined serifs, and hairlines delicate enough to read as lavish — the character is romantic and faintly precious, and it is genuinely too fine for small body text.
Among free faces it's the closest match to The Seasons: the same display garalde construction, the same dramatic curves and romantic elegance at headline scale. It also covers the wedding-invitation and book-cover work Mrs Eaves tends to own, and its classical-yet-modern bearing captures the luxury display feel that draws designers to Canela. Set it big, give it room, and pair it with a sturdier serif wherever the text gets small.
