About Chango
Chango is an ultra-fat display face from Fontstage, released through Google Fonts in 2011, with softly bulging letterforms and rounded flares standing in for serifs. There is a single style and no weight range at all — one loud register, inflated until the counters shrink to slots and the letters press hard against each other on the line.
That silhouette makes it the closest thing Google Fonts has to Cooper Black, though it runs more cartoonish and less refined than Cooper's lettering-trained curves. It also pushes past Feather, taking that chunkiness to its maximum. Use it for short, loud headlines, poster type, logotypes, and packaging where the word itself is doing the work of the graphic. At text size, or anywhere a setting needs more than one voice, it has nothing left in reserve.
