About BBH Sans Hegarty

BBH Sans Hegarty is a single-weight grotesque released on Google Fonts in 2025 and credited to Studio DRAMA, the London type studio also behind the Heinz typeface. It is the normal-width cut of a three-width family built for the advertising agency BBH, with BBH Sans Bogle as the condensed cut and BBH Sans Bartle as the expanded one. The family was developed over roughly two years with BBH's internal design team and made public in February 2026 as part of the agency's rebrand. Studio DRAMA frames it as a contemporary British grotesque, and Hegarty was positioned as the expressive, unconventional member of the trio.

The font suits headlines, posters, brand collateral and editorial display where you want grotesque structure with some personality. It carries alternates, four stylistic sets and custom Zag glyphs that reference BBH campaigns. Because it ships in one Regular weight, pair it with a broader family for running text. Google Fonts now lists the family as BBH Hegarty, and the BBH Sans Hegarty name is still served by the Google Fonts API.

Display + body that work together

Quiet type that does the work
Crisp, even strokes give the display its punch. Quiet serifs underneath stay readable across thousands of words — used together by editors at the kind of paper that still prints corrections.

Pages that earn the read
The display sets the register; the body follows through. When both halves of a pair pull in the same direction, the design disappears and the words come forward.
