Raleway
A free alternative to Gotham.
About Raleway
Raleway is a 2010 geometric sans by Matt McInerney, Pablo Impallari, and Rodrigo Fuenzalida, built as a variable family whose weight axis runs from Thin all the way to Black. It's an elegant, lightly narrow geometric whose most recognizable trait is a distinctive 'W' — the detail most likely to give away that a layout isn't set in something else. OpenType stylistic alternates ship with the family for exactly that reason.
Switch them on and Raleway becomes a strong Gotham alternative: with the 'W' replaced, the forms sit much closer to Gotham's even geometric proportions, and the Thin-to-Black range covers the display work Gotham is usually hired for. Left at its defaults it reads as its own face rather than a substitute, so the alternates aren't optional if the Gotham look is the goal. For headlines and brand systems, it's the most economical route there.
