About Quattrocento Sans
Quattrocento Sans is Pablo Impallari's 2011 humanist sans, built on classical proportions with subtle stroke variation rather than the flat, even line of a neutral grotesque. That modulation gives it a calligraphic undercurrent and a warmer texture in running text than most humanist sans faces manage, while the letterforms stay open and even enough for sustained reading.
It sits closer to Gill Sans's calligraphic-influenced construction than the more neutral humanists do, which makes it a sound free pick for editorial body text in a Gill-adjacent register. It works in the Optima tradition as well — less flared than Optima, but recognizably part of the same family of ideas, and a safer choice when a more display-oriented humanist would be too much at text sizes.
