IBM Plex Serif
A workhorse text serif from IBM’s open-source family — calm at long lengths, with subtle slab influences.
About IBM Plex Serif
IBM Plex Serif is the serif member of the IBM Plex superfamily, the open-source type system Mike Abbink designed with Bold Monday as IBM's corporate typeface, released in 2017. It's a text-first serif with even color and a considered, slightly engineered character that coordinates precisely with IBM Plex Sans and Mono.
That coordination is its main draw as a free serif: it brings institutional seriousness to editorial body text, documentation, and brand systems, and because the whole family shares proportions and metrics it drops in cleanly wherever you're already using a neutral corporate sans.
