Trajan Pro vs PF Monumenta Pro
Two commercial all-capitals serifs that trace their forms to lettering cut into Roman stone. Trajan Pro is Adobe's 1989 digitisation of the Trajan's Column inscription, the default face of movie posters and book covers, while PF Monumenta Pro is Parachute's later lapidary roman, drawn from both Roman and Greek carved capitals and extended into shaded and metallic display styles.

- Trajan Pro was drawn by Carol Twombly from a full-size rubbing of the capitalis monumentalis on Trajan's Column, and Robert Slimbach's 2012 Trajan Pro 3 revision expanded it to six weights with Greek and Cyrillic.
- PF Monumenta Pro, by Panos Vassiliou, is based on Roman and Greek stone-carved characters and ships as three styles — Regular, Shaded, and Metallica, the last simulating three-dimensional metallic lettering.
- Trajan Pro places small caps in the lowercase slots, whereas PF Monumenta Pro uses those positions for alternate forms such as B, R, K, Omega, and Xi, accessed through OpenType stylistic alternates.
- Both are paid fonts: Trajan Pro is bundled with an Adobe Fonts subscription or sold through Fontspring, while PF Monumenta Pro costs from $69 per style or $185 for the family on MyFonts, with Latin, Greek, and Cyrillic support.
